Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Quiz With Floris (“we”) collects when you use this website, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it simple: we only collect what the site needs to work and to get better.
If you just play
You can play every quiz without an account. When you finish a quiz we record the result (the quiz, the score and the time) without your name, so we can see which quizzes are popular. If you rate a quiz without being logged in, we store a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address so each person can only vote once; we can’t turn it back into your address.
If you finish a quiz while logged out, your score is kept in your own browser for up to an hour (in local storage), so it can be saved if you then sign up. It never leaves your device unless you create an account.
If you make an account
- Your username, email address and password. The password is stored encrypted; we can’t read it.
- Your scores, badges and quiz history, so you can see them on your profile.
- Your email choice. If you leave “Email me new quizzes and games” switched on, we’ll occasionally email you about new quizzes. You can switch it off on your profile at any time, or ask us through the contact page.
We use this to run your account and, if you agreed, to send you those emails. We never sell your data.
Cookies and analytics
When you log in, WordPress sets cookies that keep you logged in. We also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use, which sets its own cookies. Google processes that data on our behalf; you can block it with your browser settings or an ad blocker and the site will still work.
Other services the site uses
To show the site, your browser may load fonts from Adobe Fonts and Google Fonts, flag images from flagcdn.com, and a script from Cloudflare’s cdnjs. These services see your IP address when your browser fetches from them, as with any website. Photos on quiz tiles are stored on our own server; their sources are on the image credits page.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account details and email address; anonymous play counts stay, as they are not linked to you.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Just send a message through the contact page. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update this page and the date below.
